i've hated planes for years. when you get in a car and something goes wrong, there's AAA. when a plane goes haywire, that's it, unless the pilot can manage an emergency landing.
There truly are very few plane crashes. You have a lot of cars on the highways you have to worry as to whether or not everyone is paying attention, sober, their cars are working so they won't break down in front of you. Still far more deaths by car than by plane. I have an hour and a half commute each way each day...I worry each time I get in the car. LA drivers are insane!
over the past two weeks i have driven about 600-700 mi. this was all local driving, the farthest drive being about 30 min. however, the only real difference is the time it takes.
i would drive everywhere rather than take a plane. in fact, i plan on going on a road trip next summer, although we might go to boston instead and catch some ball games.

city drivers have their own code. you get the hang of it after a little. suburban drivers have a different code, one thats harder to get used to because you have old people who shouldn't be driving, and the speed demons. its hard, but you find a way to get by.
as for driving, i'll take my chances over everything else. one day i hope to own a chopper- a harley to be exact.
In the words of the late James Marshall Hendrix, "Music is my religion." Music is my passion and favorite hobby. I can't imagine my life without it. It keeps me sane in my little world, offers me some solace in times of grief, and gets the blood flowing while working out.

I haven't flown in several years. I would still rather fly than drive any distance over 300 miles.
Driving a show car 1000 miles for delivery will do that to you. ;^)

Plane crashes get big headlines but are rare. You are more likely to die of a stroke answering inane questions at preboarding.

"How many of you still feel safe on planes considering the past two weeks?"
Exactly
