Today's Laughing Gas

Last night/early this morning I saw one of the funniest TV commercials at about 1:35 AM EST.

The subject- POISON CONTROL HOTLINE!

It was about a minute long. The scene that caught my attention was the part when an Asian woman answered the phone and said in an Asian-American accent "It's OK, that much won't hurt you." I nearly choked on some water. If you don't think that that was funny, maybe you would if you saw it, especially after 3 long days of work.

I'm partial to the "Priceline" commerical where William Shatner askes a woman if she would like to make a quick ten bucks.

lol.

i don't seem to remember that one. i like a few commercials, but none with a serious message (until now).

another one i also like is a mohegan sun commercial where there's a married couple laying down on the floor and an asian guy speaks in perfect western dialect 'can you folks get up now, please.'

I love Shatner's commericals for priceline. Too funny.

DM it does sound like it was funny.

My favorites are the ones where someone does something really stupid...like the kid who is batting and lets go and it flies into the glass door or in the same campaign, they have the guy fall on a treadmill and get thrown from it...or the guy falling in the fountain. They just crack me up.

Good to hear from you Drum Master.

I found out I am allergic to tobacco . All that smoke was making me sick. All is well that ends well.

i wish they had one of those smoking laws in jersey. they did it in NY, MA, and i think CT. yet here, i get so much second hand smoke that i nearly want to kill myself, especially at concerts. i've gotten somewhat used to it by now, yet my clothes reek afterwards.

i just thought of a good quote, 'i didn't smoke, but i inhaled.' lol

DM, if you want to get rid of spam, go to your blogger area (where you do posts) and instead click on settings, then go to comments and you can install the option to make people type a word -- stops those automatic spam machines. It's done wonders for my site.

yes i saw. your site is spam free now. i'll give it a little more time before i take such drastic action considering it was only one spam since i made N&R in April.

DM,
I took a quick look at it the other day before I left for work. I see that you had deleted the post.

I found it strange, although it had the earmarks of spam, there was a definite "blogger" blog with this guy posting on it.

He didn't allow comments but there weren't any hot links that I coud see. His posts came off as the type of testimonials that you would associate with an infomercial.

I intended to take another look today and do some snooping around to see if there were any hidden links and examine the page code, (just to see what I could find).

You didn't happen to keep the Email comment notification by any chance? If you did, I wish you would forward it to me. Email forward so I could examine the headers.

I'd like to know WTF is going on with this guy.

i checked out the guy's site myself to find he had no profile. the whole thing was an infomercial with a few posts sounding like the exact same thing. anyone who is registered with no profile is highly suspicious, just ask esther. she has had a major spammer problem, many of the recent ones actually being registered with blogger. there is one way of prevention though that has been working so far.

as for the e-mail comment, i thought i still had it and i went into my mailbox to find it was gone. i think i remember it though if you want it.

DM,
Thats ok, I was wanting to see the Email headers. They do not show up in a normal message unless you elect to have them show. They can contain a great deal of information.

Sometimes you can trace them back to the original sender or a specific web site, with a little help from "Whois".
